Urology

Urology is the branch of medicine that focuses on the urinary tract of males and females, and on the reproductive system of males. The organs covered by urology include the kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra and the male reproductive organs. 

The Department of Urology diagnoses, treats, and manages patients with the following urological disorders:

  • Urinary Stones (diagnosis and management of stones with latest equipment without surgical cuts)
  • Management of male impotence and infertility
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Birth defects of urinary & genital organs
  • Lactation consultation
  • Andro-urology
  • Other facilities include:

  • ESWL – Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy
  • Urodynamics – uroflowmetry and cystometry which are meant to assess obstruction to urinary flow and functions of the bladder
  • Ultrasound – abdomen and transrectal
  • Transrectal ultrasound guided gun biopsy
  • Flexible cystoscopy
